Series lore and name
A massive worm-like creature with a cactus on its head. The cactolotl is most at home in desert regions, where it can burrow itself in sand to camouflage so that the cactus remains above ground. Should the unsuspecting adventurer draw near, the beast rises from the sands to attack.

Using Cactolotl
Cactolotl sits in the Dragon family.
In DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Withered World you do not fight beside your monsters — you build the party and command it. Up to four monsters are active with four more in reserve, and synthesis is the main way to raise a keeper: combine two monsters from level 10 and the child inherits the parents' talents, with a Plus Value that can lift it past their rank.
